Sharing the Gospel in Uganda. Haiti. Guatemala. Los Angeles. Baltimore. India. Wisconsin. North Africa. Greece.

We believe God has called us to take the gospel across the street and around the world. Because of this we have partners and projects in our city, state, country, and around the world. With our giving, we support the national and worldwide efforts of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Alabama Baptist State Convention and the North Jefferson Baptist Association. We believe and act upon the belief that missions is more than giving money.

We put feet to our prayers through:

  • Multiple mission trips each year, undertaking projects such as construction, Vacation Bible School, water wells, seed to feed, food bags and evangelism.

  • Maintaining a food bank to assist those in our community in need.

  • Operation Christmas Child, providing Christmas gifts through Samaritan's Purse to children around the world.

  • Assisting with Jimmie Hale Mission Men's Center, Jessie's Place, Royal Pines and Mission Possible Bargain Center.

  • Prison Fellowship, which ministers to prisoners, ex-prisoners and victims.

Below, you’ll find additional ministries we partner with, resources to help you prepare for a trip, along with upcoming and ongoing projects you can participate in.

Resources

Raising Support For Mission Trips

There are two ways you can invite your friends and family to support you on a mission project.

  1. Prayer: ask and encourage others to pray for you and your team in preparation for the trip, while you’re there, and for the days following.

  2. Finances: You can utilize social media, letters, and our unique trip online giving pages to raise support. We provide you with many different tools and resources to do this. Your trip leader can walk with you in this process.

Jimmie Hale Mission

Since 1944, the Jimmie Hale Mission has been helping those caught in the grasp of homelessness to escape life on the street and become healthy members of the community. Once a month, men from GFBC visit the mission to host a service. Through worship, preaching, and fellowship, GFBC has an opportunity to encourage the residents of the mission.

Royal Pines

Royal Pines is an extension of the Jimmie Hale Mission, resting on 75 acres in Hayden, AL. The quiet, secluded environment provides a peaceful retreat from the distractions and influences of everyday life. This strategic location plays an integral role in helping clients focus on restoring their lives and building a future story with the help of certified counselors. They guide clients through recovery and life restoration programs focused on physical, mental, relational, vocational, and spiritual health.

Sober Living

Sober Living offers addiction recovery courses, transitional housing, spiritual education, and other addiction recovery support to residents living near Birmingham, AL.

Discovery Clubs

Discovery Clubs are after-school Bible clubs held in public elementary schools in Birmingham and the surrounding counties. Each club meets for one hour a week after school.

100 Oaks

The 100 Oaks ministry serves our local Spanish-speaking community through ESL, homework help for children, Bible studies, and special events throughout the year. Those who serve are not required to know Spanish.

Project Team

Throughout the year, our project team serves the community as special needs arise. These projects can range from wheel-chair ramps to painting projects, landscaping, and more.

Outreach Team

The outreach team serves at special events throughout the year, such as the Magnolia Festival, the Christmas Parade, the Fall Festival, and more. This team utilizes these opportunities to love and serve our community with the love of Christ.
