Healthcare Connection

Helping to connect the church family with the healthcare community

“When I was poorly clothed, you covered me.
When I was sick, you tenderly cared for me.” Matthew 24:36a

Navigating today’s healthcare system is no easy task. It is my goal to help families understand options and find solutions to healthcare needs.

After 25 years in post acute healthcare, I would love to use my experience to point others in the right direction.

Where do we even start?

Is it time for nursing home placement? What about assisted living? Is home health a good option? Is rehab appropriate? Do we need physical therapy or occupational therapy? Can my physician do telehealth visits so we don't have to visit the doctor? Do we need to hire a paid caregiver?

Thankfully, we live in a country and a time that healthcare options are plentiful. While this is a blessing, it can also be overwhelming.

Family Education

There is always new and confusing information to consider. Together, we can explore different options. It is helpful to have a resource to help facilitate hard conversations and bring clarity to everyone involved.

During a Hospital Stay
I have worked hand in hand with hospital discharge planners for years. I am happy to help facilitate this communication and help families understand the process of discharge and what to expect next.

In the Home
I am happy to lend helpful advice when decisions need to be made about what do next. Is it time to; Call the doctor? Go to the hospital? Utilize a community resource?
